w/Criterion Acoustics
When Mother Wolf, a fine dining restaurant located in the upscale Fontainebleau casino and resort, began receiving complaints about excessive noise levels, they contracted with an acoustical consulting firm, Criterion Acoustics, to solve the problem. Criterion Acoustics designed a sound absorbing solution to be mounted on the ceiling, but quickly realized that due to the intricate architectural details, along with the number of lights, HVAC grilles and sprinklers on the ceiling, manufacturing acoustic panels to fit the space would be a challenge.
Denver Drafting & Design was hired by Criterion Acoustics to perform a laser scan of the space, model the ceiling in Revit, and provide shop drawing layouts that could be used to program their CNC machines to fabricate the acoustical treatments. Using traditional methods to measure the ceiling would have required using multiple people on scaffolding, costing hundreds of man-hours, and with a final result far less accurate. Additionally, by using the laser scanner, the entire measurement process took less than an hour, minimizing disruptions to the restaurant’s operations.
